Thanksgiving 2011
Dear Contemporary Communication Partners,
As I am constructing this letter, I am thanking God for you, your partnership, your prayers, your financial giving and your support of Contemporary Communication. I can honestly say, because of your support/partnership, lives are being changed on a daily basis!
Let me review some highlights for you. I am continuing to sense and experience the residual from my Africa trip at the end of last summer. It was an incredible time to meditate, contemplate and evaluate. As a result, I am a better husband, father, leader and messenger of God's message. We will not grow weary in staying true to the mission of influencing the largest number of non-churched seeking students and parents so that they can be powerfully impacted by the message of Jesus Christ.
In October, I had an incredible experience with over 450 men, mainly from Kensington Community Church, at Spring Hill Camps. They had asked me to be their keynote speaker, and I can honestly say that it was one of the highlights of my ministry year. I took away far more than I shared. Why? Real guys, seeking a real God, to live a real life of authenticity and multiplicity.
On a regular basis, we continue to welcome new people to The River Community Church - the River on 59. We are seeing unprecendented growth. If you live within 50 miles of The River, I encourage you to come to one of our Christmas Experiences. This year we will be hosting six Experiences...three on December 23rd and three on the 24th at 3:00pm, 5:00pm and 7:00pm. You can find out more information on our website, www.TheRiverOn59.com. Please make it a priority to attend. I would appreciate seeing you.
We are seeing the hand of God work in special ways in individual's lives, student's lives and families because people are becoming more centered on Christ than on themselves. As a result, they are praying, fasting and seeking God's wisdom. People are coming to know Christ, grow in Christ and share Christ. Recently I had a young lady in my office who, in the past, has not thought very highly of herself. As a result of stepping over the line of faith and growing in her faith, she is a new individual. She has made siginficant changes in her life and she now has purpose. She graduated with her GED and now is getting phenomonal grades in college. She knows that she used to do things to draw attention to herself that were unhealthy and not wise. That is changing! When an individual begins to be changed from the inside out, guess what happens? People don't have to preach to them or coerce them. Jesus changes their life. You are making it possible!
On November 7, I had the privilege of speaking to a leadership class. That was a great experience because leaders energize me, stimulate me and keep me humble. You say, keep my humble; why would that be? Because when you around leaders, you realize there is a whole lot that you don't know. you can always learn and that keeps you humble.
I will be back in communication with you in the middle of December. Know that your gifts and prayers are making a difference. Staff is being encouraged. Because of your gifts, children and students who would not normally be hearing the life-changing message of Christ are. Thank you for making it possible!
Your friend and partner in ministry,
Terry Prisk
