January 2010
Dear Partner of Contemporary Communication,
The Christmas season was incredible, and the New Year has started off in an amazing way! At The River Community Church, we saw over 20% growth from a year ago with our Christmas Experiences. We did five Experiences, and I am sure that for Christmas 2010, we will have to add a sixth Experience!
I am looking forward to speaking this winter at Spring Hill Camps and also in Alberta, Canada, for a youth event.
On a daily basis I get into conversations with individuals who are experiencing some of the toughest times of their life; yet through it all, they say they are experiencing God's Spirit. A real life story illustrates what I just said is true. On January 8th I had the privilege of doing a funeral for the Leavenworth family. Casey Leavenworth died on White Lake during an unfortunate snowmobile accident. Another youung man was also killed. During the funeral, it was undeniable that God was present. Notice that I said I had the privilege. I mean that! Whenver you can provide hope, comfort and the reality of God's love, provision and presence, that is a privilege.
Your continued partnership is needed and appreciated. Don't forget that every day is an opportunity to be light and salt. We should never get to the point where we have lost our effectiveness and/or flavor.
To be more efficent, and to be wise with God's funds, we are going to begin communicating with our partners through email. I will keep you informed.
Thanks again! I look forward to the opportunities in 2010.
